Route Improvements Effective September 3, 2019

You asked…We listened. Check out Service Improvements!
Our organization listened to feedback from the community and our bus operators after previous route changes took place in May 2019. Adjustments have been made to improve our services and better fulfill our mission to work together to improve regional mobility for the citizens of Beaver County. Click here to read the full press release. The most significant changes include:

  • Improved on-time performance
  • More convenient transfers at our Rochester Transportation Center and at the Ambridge Park & Ride
    • This includes commuter connections between RT 1 & RT 2
    • Minimal transfer wait times
  • Improvements to RT 1 ,and RT 2,  with expanded service of downtown Beaver on RT 3   and continued service to the Beaver Valley Mall on RT 11


Other service improvements include:

RT 1

  • The stop at 7th St and Liberty Ave. will move to the shelter at 6th St & Liberty Ave. in order to maintain consistency with BCTA’s other Pittsburgh stops
  • A 5:24 pm weekday departure time from Liberty Ave and 6th Street instead of the 5:05 pm departure time
  • A transfer from RT 2 to RT 1 from Rochester to Beaver Falls was added at 10:30 pm on weekdays
  • An abbreviated restoration of the Chippewa “Loop” that includes Dunham’s Plaza and Walmart Plaza
  • In addition to rush hour service, there will be four  weekday trips arriving downtown Pittsburgh at 9:43 am, 11:53 am 2:03 pm and 3:08 pm

RT 2

  • Restoration of the Ambridge “Loop” on every RT 2 trip
  • Expanded weekday evening service to Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) until 11:01 pm

RT 3

  • Service to and from Beaver on all RT 3 trips

RT 11

  • Service will continue to and from the Beaver Valley Mall


Schedules are not consistent each hour (i.e. 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, etc.).  Times will vary throughout the day at each bus stop (i.e. 9 am, 10:05 am, 11:10 am, 12:15 pm, etc.). BCTA encourages bus riders to check the new schedules which have been posted on the BCTA website.  Schedules are also available at all ticket outlets and all other BCTA distribution sites throughout the Beaver County area.
