Notice of Public Hearing

Beaver County Transit Authority

 

The Beaver County Transit Authority will hold a public hearing at 5:00pm on Monday, February 4, 2019 to receive public comments regarding proposed service changes to the Fixed Route service.  Service changes which if approved would take place on April 1, 2019.  The hearing will be held in the Board Room of the BCTA Transportation Center, located at 200 West Washington Street, Rochester, PA 15074.  Written comments regarding the proposed changes will be accepted until 3pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.  All written comments should be mailed or delivered in person to BCTA, 200 West Washington Street, Rochester, PA 15074.  Persons not able to attend the meeting may review the proposed modifications by contacting Terri Riley, Technology & Data Specialist at 724-728-4255 to schedule an appointment prior to the date of the public hearing.  All comments received in person or in writing will be reviewed by BCTA’s Board of Directors and taken into consideration when making any final decisions regarding the proposed changes to the service.

 

Description of Proposed Service Changes:

 

BCTA proposes the following major changes:

Elimination of certain early morning hours on Routes 1 and 11 and late night hours on Route 11

The last weekday Route 1 bus from Pittsburgh will be at 7 pm from the East Busway stop

Elimination of Route 1 service to and from Pittsburgh between the hours of 9 am and 3:30 pm

The stop at Drug and Alcohol in Vanport will be eliminated

CCBC service will be reduced weekdays and eliminated on Saturdays

One Route 3 morning trip will be eliminated along with time changes

Route 11 Saturday service will be reduced

 

Benefits of the proposed changes include:

 

Improved on time performance

The addition of a bus on Route 2

Improved connections between routes

Elimination of capacity issues on certain routes

Route 11 service to the Beaver Valley Mall
