Passes & Tickets

Are you a regular BCTA rider? Do you want to save money, and save yourself the aggravation of fumbling for bills and coins each time you take a trip? If so, you may be interested in one of the following low-cost, prepaid forms of fare media offered by BCTA:

Day Pass

When you use the Day Pass to take just one round trip, you’ve already saved 20% when compared to paying cash!  You save even more if you make multiple trips during the course of a day!

  • Customer purchases this directly from the driver for $4.25
  • Price includes unlimited trips within Beaver County from time of purchase until the end of the service day
  • Eliminates the hassle of requesting transfers on each trip
  • Unlike a transfer, the Day Pass can be used on return or continuing trips on the same route
  • This pass is non-transferable and can only be used by the individual purchasing the pass.

  • Here’s how it works:
    • In the morning, the customer:
      • Pays their express fare on the local feeder route
      • Receives an express fare
      • Boards the express route and presents the transfer
      • Pays no additional fare
    • In the afternoon, the customer:
      • Pays their express fare on the express route
      • Receives an express transfer
      • Boards the connecting route and presents the transfer

Transfers
  • Are free and worth the base fare:
    • $2.50 full fare
    • $1.25 half fare
  • If you need to transfer to another route and have paid cash for your trip, simply request a transfer from your driver.  If you’re utilizing a Day Pass, a transfer won’t be needed as you can use your pass an unlimited number of times for the day.
  • Transfers are valid for two hours from the time they are issued to be used on another route in order to travel to your final destination.
  • Transfers cannot be used for return or continuing trips on the same route.
  • Using a transfer, you can travel between any two points we serve in Beaver County for one reasonable fare.
  • We’re sorry, but BCTA transfers can only be issued at the following designated transfer points:
    • Rochester
    • Expressway Travel Center
    • Ambridge
